Web Developer

We’re looking for a Web Developer to build not only attractive, but also functional websites for our clients. This position will work with our creative department to guide web strategy, develop wireframes, build new websites or refresh existing ones, and maintain and update sites once they’re running.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Zipie team and our clients to help define website content strategy, design, and functionality
  • Provide guidance for website projects and write technical requirements
  • Create wireframes, site maps, schematics, process maps, feature lists, mockups, visual specifications, working prototypes and other tools to demonstrate the intended user experience
  • Work closely with our Digital Marketing Specialist and/or clients’ developers or third party platforms to implement a wide variety of tracking codes and digital marketing technologies, often deployed through Google Tag Manager
  • Ensure that designs are translated into visually compelling web pages
  • Use a combination of markup languages to write web pages
  • Refresh and make recommendations for existing client websites
  • Build cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms and maintain graphic standards and branding
  • Test, test, and re-test websites until they’re just right
  • Provide ongoing website maintenance, updates, and enhancements
  • Analyze web measurement data to make recommendations and implement improvements
  • Stay up to date with emerging web technologies and development practices to keep Zipie’s web capabilities relevant in a rapidly-changing landscape

Skills & Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a web development or programming role— preferably with a front-end/UX focus
  • Proven ability to independently build websites that look good and work even better
  • BS in computer science or related field
  • Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS, Ajax, and Jquery
  • Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, Javascript, or Ruby
  • Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization criteria and best practices
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Squarespace, and other similar website builders and content management systems (CMSs)
  • Familiarity with various tools and principles of marketing technology, including:
    • Google Analytics (Certification from Google Analytics Academy preferred)
    • Google Tag Manager (Fundamentals Certification from Google Analytics Academy preferred)
    • Cookie-based tracking o Retargeting and Conversion-tracking pixels/tags (Facebook Pixel,
      AdWords tags, etc.)
    • Website form submission and data collection
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt with new technologies and wide array of client needs (basically must be flexible, familiar with charm/hustle cycle to some extent)
  • Experience using APIs to connect platforms and automate business processes, specifically in regards to marketing technology—this isn’t required, but it would be a nice bonus!
  • Experience with domain registration and hosting
  • A keen eye for layout aesthetics and a talent for programming
  • Thorough knowledge of site design, user interface design processes and methodology, and information architecture-related software
  • Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills and the ability to deliver projects within deadlines
